Job description

The Role:
We are seeking Senior Medical Registrars to join the department of Medicine in a city location. Come and make a difference at one of Australia’s leading health care providers!

The position would most suit an advanced trainee in general medicine at any level but a senior trainee in another discipline aiming to acquire more expertise in medical education would also be highly regarded.

Salary up to $176,000

Key Responsibilities:
The roles will be split into an administrative/educational component (0.5FTE) and clinical component (0.5FTE). The SMR’s clinical duties will be negotiated with reference to the applicant’s specific training needs as part of their overall specialty advanced training. There will be also opportunities for undertaking research and teaching at the Medical School.

The Hospital:
This is 275 bed level 4 multi-discipline, modern public healthcare facility serving the community. The hospital supports a broad range of acute and sub-acute services including community-based care.  The new Hospital will be built on the existing Hospital campus, it will be a modern, state-of-the-art hospital for patients, visitors and its workforce and will provide more beds and increased services.

The Location:
Literally set amongst stunning bush land that is always only a 5 min walk away from anywhere. If you love bushwalking, cycling, exploring, being active etc then it's a win win.

The climate is favourable – having four seasons is a treat – and the air is fresh, only two hours from the beach, two hours to the snow and a little longer drive for those big city experiences. Direct International flights operating from the local airport, making travelling abroad easy too.

Skills & Qualifications Required:

  • Be registered or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • The successful applicant will need to be for weekend and after-hours work.
  • You will have a strong interest in developing further skills in medical education across all training levels.
Preferable be in final training year of FRACP Advanced Training in Acute and General Medicine or have received their Fellowship.
