The role will also be responsible for the preparation of grant applications. This position will be expected to collaboratively produce high quality research reports and articles suitable for publication in peer reviewed journals.

Here at Justice Health & Forensic Mental Health Network, this Senior Research Officer (HM3) is responsible for providing leadership and expertise in the design, development, conduct, analysis, and reporting on research projects. The successful applicant for this role will lead work focusing on health literacy. The position work under the leadership/supervision of the Research Operations Manager and is expected to collaboratively produce high quality research reports and articles suitable for publication in peer reviewed journals. This position will be responsible for project managing the health literacy study as well as supporting other projects in various stages of completion. The role and responsibilities are to be carried out in a manner that is consistent with delegations, policies, procedures and operations systems of JH&FMHN, and in line with both the NSW Health Code of Conduct and JH&FMHN Code of Conduct.

The first step is to submit your resume and your answers to the following selection criteria:
A research degree or post graduate qualification in a medicine, nursing, allied health or other related discipline.
Proven extensive experience in leading research projects from study design, proposal writing, calculating sample size, literature reviews, and use of quantitative and qualitative methodologies and data analysis.
Demonstrated experience in the preparation and submission of grant applications.
Demonstrated experience in conducting statistical analysis on large data sets and demonstrated competency using SPSS or similar statistical analysis packages.
Evidence of experience in the publication of peer-reviewed journal articles and high quality reports.
Proven excellent oral and written communication, demonstrating an ability to consult, influence and negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Demonstrated high level computer skills including the use of the Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
Current NSW driver's licence and the ability to travel within metro, rural and remote NSW.
