What’s the role?

The Senior Risk & Compliance Manager is a hands-on role where you will provide support and advice across our diverse business units and brands and perform control testing, regulatory filing, insurances, statutory declarations, ISO audit, contract reviews and grow and develop a team member. You will be proactive with a customer centric focus and a good head for designing fit-for-purpose solutions.

You will understand the importance of building trusted relationships with stakeholders and proactively identify and implement simplification and continuous improvement opportunities.

What are the key responsibilities?

Strong understanding of the Australian risk and compliance industry.
Champion a culture of compliance.
Collaborate and co-ordinate with colleagues to embed and operationalise the GRC Framework via ongoing monitoring and assurance testing.
Manage key compliance control activities, including attestation, incident management, Privacy and AML Programme and queries, policies and registers.
Deliver risk & compliance reporting to management and business wide KPI reporting.
Mature, implement and maintain a Compliance Assurance Programme.
Mature, implement and maintain the Internal Audit Programme.
Mature, implement and maintain the Complaints Programme.
Maintain the Enterprise Risk Register
Ensure that the business complies with regulatory standards and license conditions, and adhere to best practice.
Lead various audit and reporting functions
Regulatory Filing: State reporting, Licences, Statutory Declarations
Manage all Business Insurance and Workers Compensation policies, renewals and declarations
ISO manual and process creation with supporting control testing
Complete required business information and review tenders and contracts for appropriateness and compliance

Who are you?

First and foremost, you must have at least six years’ experience in a risk and compliance, role preferably as a generalist in a technology, retail or consumer environment. Medical or health related industry would be viewed as favourable. You will also be able to demonstrate the following:

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Advanced problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
Able to work autonomously and remotely from the rest of the team.
Exceptional attention to detail.
A natural passion for compliance, why it matters and how it contributes to successful business and culture outcomes.
The ability to adapt to change.
Team player with the ability to lead by example and actively deb=velop team members.
AML/CFT experience would be advantageous.
Contract and tender review would be advantageous.
