About the role

We are currently seeking a Senior Safety Advisor (Rail) to join us on a new and exciting infrastructure project in Brisbane, QLD. This role offers great career prospects with a privately-owned tier 1 constructor and international engineering enterprise.

Key responsibilities

  • Facilitate the implementation of the Laing O’Rourke HSE Management System and Project HSE Management Plans in accordance with company requirements
  • Coach, mentor and support project personnel to continually improve the culture and performance of the project team and Laing O’Rourke’s Safety philosophy; Rethinking Safety through Inclusion and Wellbeing
  • Complete, facilitate and mentor accident investigations up to and including Potential Class 1
  • Assist in the coordination and undertaking of HSE assurance activities including audits and support the project in developing and closing out any actions arising

About you

  • Relevant Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety 
  • Experience with the Queensland Rail network (QLD Rail network experience is essential)
  • Demonstrated audit experience along with experience in coaching to develop safety peers and project personnel in Health & Safety
