The Big Picture:
Howden Australia has an immediate need for a highly motivated Senior Site Project Manager to ensure that the operational and technical aspects of multiple or large scale projects are managed effectively and efficiently. You will be responsible for high-level deliverables across projects, understanding the OEM and AFM Terms and Conditions of Contracts to minimize our exposure and risk across multiple projects.
This role will prepare, monitor and control all aspects of the project site related works to ensure costs are controlled; margins are achieved and the project is completed within deadline on the clients site. There will be regular liaison with the procurement department to solve any supply issues that may arise, as well as co-ordinating activities and procuring items via the procurement department required for installation and site related components of projects. You will be the point of contact for all the commissioning parties (i.e. Service Engineers, Client and Subcontractors) to ensure effective communication channels are maintained. This role is responsible for compiling the hand over certificate and all site related paperwork for client’s approval to certify that the product is functioning according to client’s requirements and product training has been conducted to ensure efficient and safe operation of the equipment and full handover to the client.
The Senior Site Project Manager is responsible for the preparation, monitoring and control of all aspects of the project is required to ensure costs are controlled; margins are achieved and the project is completed within deadline. This also includes providing accurate forecasts on expenses, profitability, margins, bill rates and utilization across projects. The ability to resolve issues and developing long-term relationships with clients to capitalise on equity and partnership opportunities is also crucial.

What needs to be done?
Responsible for overall management of Site works portion of service projects according to Contract specification, to be delivered on time, and within set budget. Feedback as appropriate to Project PMs for projects within your control and formal communications with the client to manage contractual and technical matters.
Responsible as Contract Representative / Project Manager for site works portions under your control.
To ensure that Site works are managed and delivered effectively and efficiently to meet all set goals and objectives and to the required quality standards.
Ensure the projects are effectively resourced and manage relationships with a wide range of groups in Howden and externally.
Early engagement at tendering stage with Sales to assist with site inspections, scope & schedule development and budgeting.
Sourcing & Selection and engagement of external contractors for site works.
Periodic site inspections and regular progress meetings with the service team to ensure site works are executed as per Howden and Site requirements.
Completion of all AX related activities in regards to budgeting and forecasting of site work portions, working with project PM to conclude this item as appropriate.
Ad-hoc Project Management of projects as/when required.

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent
2 years experience in project management
Risk management, knowledge of ISO and OHS standards
Basic financial management
Demonstrated experience working Microsoft Project and MS Office including ERP systems
Excellent communication skills
Ability to manage workforce on clients site where required
Good negotiations skills
Excellent building and developing relationship skills including stakeholder management
Ability to lead & manage the project and the team
Excellent customer relation skills including ability to translate customer requirements
Strong organization and time management skills
Commercially astute and be able to manage risk
Results oriented proactive individual
Good team player

Post Graduate Engineering Qualifications
Project management training
Experience in quality assurance management systems (e.g. ISO9000)
