About the role
In this role, you will contribute to the development, management and delivery of a broad range of complex community and social Infrastructure strategies, policies, plans, and projects, across the City of Greater Geelong. You will be involved in the planning and delivery of Community Hubs and Social infrastructure policy delivery

Key responsibilities include:

  • Represent Council in the development and implementation of community and social infrastructure projects and plans.
  • Provide specialist advice to Management and Council on relevant social and community infrastructure issues, projects and programs.
  • Research, analyse and develop innovative and responsive projects, policies and plans to meet Council and community infrastructure priorities.
  • Lead strategic Infrastructure planning and contribute to land use planning to ensure innovative approaches, programs, projects and plans.
  • Facilitate the development of policies, procedures, practices and strategies in regards to infrastructure to support the delivery of services to local residents and stakeholder groups.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have experience in the planning and delivery of large scale projects and the development of policy. You will be comfortable liaising with a diverse range of people, influence the decision making process, be innovative and have a continuous improvement mindset.

Essential Experience:
  • Experience and understanding of social infrastructure and community development.
  • Extensive experience in developing and delivering infrastructure projects and policies, strategies and plans.
  • Ability to research, develop and analyse strategies, policy and plans on a variety of levels and complexities.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as Recreation Planning, Urban or Town Planning, Urban Design, Community Development, Asset Management or a related field and/or experience at a comparable level of responsibility.
