Permanent part time Senior Social Worker Level 3 year 1 (4 days a week) at The Child Protection Unit at Sydney Children's Hospital. These positions are largely very tightly held at SCH Randwick and within the CPU. What you'll be doing
This is an integrated Violence Abuse and Neglect service. The social worker is part of a multidisciplinary team and involves service provision to children and families who have experienced Sexual Assault, Physical and Emotional Abuse. Domestic and Family Violence and Neglect. The position provides crisis response, complex psychosocial assessment and short and medium term counselling. Participation in intake and the after-hours on-call roster is required. This is a clinical and consultative service to the Hospital and wider community of NSW. In this position there are also opportunities for teaching, research and project development.
Eligibility for membership of the AASW.
Demonstrated capacity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated skills in counselling both children and adults.
Knowledge of the dynamics of sexual assault and the implications for practice and counselling.
Demonstrated knowledge of evidence based practice in the Child Protection field .
Extensive experience in Social Work practice & demonstrated ability and understanding of child protection case management.
High quality written and oral communication skills & strong computer skills.
