This exciting role will support the continued improvement of Officeworks' direct sourcing program and lead the Private Brand Packaging and Quality and Safety teams. With a focus on continued process review and improvement this key role will support the Merchandise team, supporting functions, sourcing agents and factory direct suppliers.

Ensuring projects are delivered to agreed timelines through effective project management and stakeholder engagement, this role will deliver Officeworks' global sourcing objectives with a focus on financial performance and continued improvement of the direct sourcing process.

Managing vendor and agent performance, the project management process and speed to market, this key role will support our overall private brand range execution. Ensuring best practise safety and quality standards, factory auditing and corrective action management, policy and standards development and incident investigation including internal reporting on supplier compliance is key.

Key focus areas include:

• Driving key financial metrics including import sales & margin, stock turn targets and agreed GMROI

• Ensuring robust Supplier Engagement with a focus on Quality and Ethical and Responsible Sourcing Compliance

• Meeting FSC & Recycled Fibre Targets

• contribute to import and private label growth, with a focus on direct suppliers and agents

• Support the curation of ranges that significantly improves financial metrics and meets our overall Merchandise strategy expectations of product, style, quality, brand and finish

• Continued improvement of the overall product development process and final execution, ensuring product & packaging quality is fit for purpose and delivered on time.

• Ensure Global Sourcing Trade Practices Laws compliance and safety

About you

Driving and supporting an ambitious growth strategy for Officeworks' Global Sourcing will require a competent and commercial leader with significant direct sourcing experience and ability to foster exceptional stakeholder engagement with external supply networks.

As a leader, you drive with purpose and foster a culture of learning, development and the highest operational standards. You enjoy sharing your knowledge, creating an engaged and collaborative team environment.

Our ideal candidate will be tertiary qualified in a Business or Commerce related field with a minimum of 5 years in . Your innovative mindset is well balanced with an advanced commercial acumen and focus on continuous improvement.

For this pivotal commercial leadership role, our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in a large scale retail or FMCG environment leading private brand, product compliance and quality assurance. A demonstrable knowledge of Australian and international technical standards and compliance will be essential.

Key considerations:

• Minimum 5 years buying experience and minimum 3 years direct importing with a large retailer

• Tertiary Qualification in Business related discipline

• Outstanding communication and team leadership skills

• Ability to engage and influence others

• Advanced analytical capability complementing strong financial and commercial nous with sound knowledge of regulatory and statutory compliance

• Competency with Microsoft Suite and Advanced Excel skills
