The role:
Provide day-to-day management of the General X-Ray Service, ensuring the provision of safe and compassionate patient centred care, founded on excellence in practice, teaching and research, respect, and inclusive leadership.
As the Senior Specialist Radiographer for the General X-Ray Service, provide expert advice and foster staff development and continuous quality improvement of services.

The Medical Imaging Department:
The Royal Hobart Hospital is the tertiary referral hospital for Tasmania. The Medical Imaging Department provides all imaging modalities 24/7 through rostered shifts and on call services. General X-Ray services include imaging for inpatients, outpatients in main department and at 3 satellite sites, emergency department, theatres and ward mobiles including ICU and NICU. This position will also have oversight of the digital fluoroscopy service located in the main department.
Details of Appointment
Permanent, full time, shift-worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $724 per annum or the ability to accrue funds for up to five years.
- Post graduate qualification salary advancement where applicable.
- Please note that access to salaries beyond $115,819 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
- Salary range is in accordance with the Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2019
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria: * Registered with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable: * Minimum of five years postgraduate experience in Medical Imaging
- Previous clinical experience within a Medical Imaging service in a tertiary referral level hospital
- Crimes of violence
- sex related offences
- serious drug offences
- crimes involving dishonesty
- Identification check
- Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
