About the role
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Finance Business Partner to join our team! The role’s primary accountability is to lead financial business partnering support to the College of Business and Law and is responsible for:
Financial Planning & Forecasting
Leading the financial planning, budgeting and process, ensuring alignment to RMIT’s strategic goals
Supporting College strategy development
Contributing to 5 year financial modelling & scenario planning
Supporting and reviewing student load and revenue forecasting
Management Reporting & Analysis
Monthly management reporting, insight and variance analysis
Identification and management of risks & opportunities
Providing effective commercial analysis to ensure key operational, commercial and financial targets are delivered
Financial Evaluation & Business Cases
Preparation and review of business cases
Identification of ongoing costs and benefits (including baseline)
Supporting Post Implementation Reviews
Finance due diligence for the management and review of new programs/courses
Financial Advice and Support
Identify external trends that may impact RMIT/College/Portfolio and financial implications
Ensure performance goals and standards are clear, hold owners to account (including mid project)
Provide meaningful insights, create understanding and engagement whilst also challenging to uncover the root case.
Help to inform and educate stakeholders to financial impacts of critical decisions
Finance Leadership
Oversee the financial services and activities delivered by Finance Business Partners in your team (2 direct reports).
Effective leadership and collaboration across all stakeholders (including the CoBL DVC and Executive team) to drive business outcomes and become a trusted advisor.
Support cross-functional process improvement and transformation projects.
To be successful in this position, you’ll have:
Significant and exceptional experience in management accounting with a high degree of fluency in financial and accounting standards.
An ability to effectively influence and support a wide range of stakeholders within complex organisational matrices and/or global/group environments.
An ability to influence and shape strategic direction through thought leadership and effective management styles.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with demonstrated expertise developing and presenting financial analysis, reports and plans to executive leadership in a clear and concise manner.
Experience driving change/process improvement programs with the capability to solve complex problems where precedent may not exist
Solid business acumen, detail oriented, highly analytical, creative problem solver with an excellent ability achieve effective results in a fast-paced, growing and ambiguous environment
A proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships and with external stakeholders to maximize performance.
Well-developed resource and people management/leadership skills, including demonstrated ability to build effective high-performance teams in a commercial environment.
