We have created a unique leadership role within our Sustainability team for a Senior Sustainability Consultant who will lead Northrop’s Climate Action Strategy and deliver market leading regenerative projects for our clients.

The Role
We recognise that one of our most important sustainability clients is our own organisation, so this role provides an opportunity to help shape Northrop’s business as well as provide high value consulting services to our external clients. There are strong synergies between these two activities, and you will have the opportunity to foster and grow our internal capability to embed climate action into the way we work and deliver our services, as well as take this capability, and your leading knowledge and experience in sustainable design, to our a wide range of clients across the geographies we serve.

The impact you’ll have:
Climate Action
- Sharing your passion, vision and commitment for climate action with all levels of our business
- Playing a leading role within Northrop’s Climate Action committee to evolve and deliver on our annual commitments
- Leading the delivery of key initiatives within Northrop’s climate action plan
- Managing our organisational Climate Active carbon neutral certification process
- Building the capacity for change across our organization through education and engagement programs
- Working with our client stakeholders and project teams to grow our client advocacy and influence
Sustainability Consulting
- Co-creating regenerative strategies with clients and project teams for building and precinct projects
- Facilitating integrated design processes with diverse stakeholder groups to build engagement, raise aspirations and developing alignment around project direction
- Managing third party sustainability certifications such as Green Star Buildings, Green Star Communities and Living Building Challenge
- Leading project sustainability teams and project client engagement
- Providing expert strategic and technical advice and guidance to clients
- Building Northrop’s industry profile through industry engagement and thought leadership
- Experience – It is required that you have demonstrable experience as a sustainability design consultant in the built environment consulting field.
- Expertise – Expert knowledge in carbon accounting including demonstrated expertise in Climate Active certifications
- Education / Qualifications - Relevant tertiary qualifications in Sustainability, Architecture or Engineering. Accreditation and experience with sustainability rating tools desirable.
- Autonomous Productivity - Ability to be highly productive with periodic direct management and with little oversight from senior management.

- Communication - Able to speak and write clearly, concisely, and compellingly. You will also need to use your written and verbal communication skills to influence people’s decisions, actions and vision.
