Job Summary:
This position will apply ICT systems engineering principles, processes and skills to systematically convert customer needs into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. It will be responsible for systems engineering planning, scheduling, and execution of requirements analysis, systems design, analyses and ICT implementation and documentation, hardware/software design oversight, requirements verification, systems integration, systems support and systems test.
What will you be responsible for?
Estimate, plan, schedule, and execute ICT systems engineering activities
Perform server benchmark and hardening activities
Develop and modify Automation playbooks to provide scripting of Network, Applications and Servers using industry best practice toolsets.
Perform implementation of Private Cloud and Public Cloud infrastructure using manual implementation and ARM style implementation templates
Provide implementation and support of DoD Protected environments for associated systems and platforms.
Elicit, clarify, define and develop and manage system requirements
Allocate system requirements to subsystem and oversee development/refinement of lower-level requirements
Define operational concepts
Support the project team in defining and documenting the system architecture and design
Support developing hardware and software designs to ensure compliance with requirements and system design
Support and co-ordinate the work of associate systems engineers as directed by LVC Integration lead.
Provide hand on implementation and ongoing Support of hardware/software integration planning and oversee activities by 3rd party integrators.
Support functional and regression ICT system acceptance test planning and perform test implementation and provide certification systems and sub systems test activities acceptance.
Work closely with other engineering disciplines to coordinate and integrate system elements and interfaces to enable integrated teams and project cohesion.
Perform technical risk management activities
Support project risk management activities
Support engineering activities for development of new business proposals, and preparation of associated cost rationale for change/new business of small to medium scope, cost and risk.
What skills and experience will our ideal candidate have?
Essential:
Extensive experience working in a software driven technology environment
Experience supporting teams on systems definition
Microsoft Server Implementation Experience
CISCO Wifi and Campus Networking Experience
Formal Systems Engineering/Solution Integration experience
Experience at a team level in development or technology integration teams
Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycles using both Waterfall and Agile approaches
Knowledge of ACSC Security Policies, ASD and ISM Security Standards
Knowledge of relevant engineering standards and relevant Health and Safety legislative requirements
Experience of working in a formal project structure following ISO 9001 processes
High level of awareness of budget, schedule and quality in relation to project deliverables from a technical planning and execution perspective.
Defence Security Baseline Clearance
Desirable:
Hand on experience working with Ansible, Terraform and Prometheus
Experience with PowerShell, Python, YAML, NodeJS, HTML,
Experience with Cesium, ArcGIS, QGIS or other Geospatial Software
CISCO Security and Networking Certification
Experience with MongoDB or similar Databases
Microsoft SQL and MySQL
Supporting GitHub continuous Automation and testing activities (CI/CD)
Understanding and Experience with Geospatial, Terrain Generation, Unreal Engine and Mapping Technologies.
Degree in system, software or electronics engineering, computer science, information systems or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
Certifications and Experience with VMWare vCentre, vRealize and vROPS
Certifications and Experience with Microsoft Server
Certification for Linux - Ubuntu and RedHat Certifications.
