The Role:
The Senior Consultant, Systems Engineering & Assurance is a key role that will provide external and internal facing technical and engineering services across the System Engineering, System Integration and System Assurance spectrum.

Reports To:
Team Lead- Systems & Digital Services.

Will also be accountable to the Technical Director- Systems Engineering and Assurance.

Core Responsibilities:
Act as a technical consultant for assignment delivery to the contractual requirements
Assignment performance to client satisfaction
Manage client relationships related to assignments
Contribute to development of innovative ideas which deliver service and product growth, client satisfaction improvement or operational performance improvement and for championing the implementation of those ideas.
Add technical expertise to large, complex and strategically important bids and proposals for projects across Australia,
Contribute to the growth strategy for the national SE/SA team including the identification and management of major opportunities.
Undertake project and consulting delivery as directed by the Digital Services/Functional Lead
Support the identification of key clients and relevant industry interfaces

Key Government Clients and Agencies: TfNSW, Sydney Trains, Sydney Metro, Queensland Rail etc
Tier 1 clients – John Holland, Ventia, CAF, Alstom, UGL etc
SNCL / Atkins global best practice groups
Partnering Consultancies
Others as required

Experience:
10+ years industry experience in the application of system engineering disciplines and management.
Ability to operate across the whole life cycle of a project from inception to steady state operation.
A thorough knowledge of Systems Engineering processes and practices and Systems Engineering tools such as IBM, Rational DOORS, MBSE tools etc.
Experience in the application of systems assurance, human factor assurance, security risk management and RAMS processes in complex projects.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Prior experience in a technical consultancy, comfortable in client facing roles and delivering to customer’s expectations.
Experience in safety-critical software development and a good understanding of high-integrity software development processes and standards is desirable.

Skills:
Leading practitioner with profound knowledge of relevant System Integration / Engineering disciplines and techniques.
Demonstrable appetite for influencing outcomes (including how they are reached) within the delivery of large and complex projects.
A strong reputation and network of contacts amongst clients and peers within the Australian Rail and System Engineering fraternity.
Good technical, leadership and inter-personal skills.
Excellent reporting and written skills.
Excellent mentoring skills, particularly relevant to the coaching and development of the younger members of the team.

Qualifications and Professional Accreditation:
Chartered Engineer in relevant discipline
Active membership of at least one appropriate professional body

Reward:
Salary [To be negotiated]
20 days annual leave
10.5% super (From 1 July 2022)

Location:
The role will be based in Sydney/Brisbane but may require some ad-hoc/short term travel to other locations in Australia.
