An exciting leadership opportunity exists in the fast-paced AFP National Media team!
As a Band 8 Senior Team Leader, you will be part of the leadership team that drives the AFP's strategic external communications and manages a high performing group of media professionals based within Canberra and right across Australia. You will work in partnership with the Minister's office and other Commonwealth and jurisdictional stakeholders to develop and deliver media and communications materials to Australian and interNational Media agencies.

You will need to be able to supervise and support your team, manage resources (financial and technical) and balance competing work requirements to deliver timely and accurate information via traditional media channels.
As a Senior Team Leader in the AFP you play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and value of each individual. Consistent with the AFP values, AFP leadership philosophy, organisational reform agendas, AFP corporate business plans and your Performance Development Agreement, the expectation is that you will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.
*This role attracts a composite allowance in recognition of expanded working hours, normal patterns of attendance and shift patterns (such as afternoon shifts, weekends and Designated Public Holidays) that are required under the Operations working pattern. In accordance with the AFP Enterprise Agreement 2017- 2020, an employee who is required to work in accordance with the Operations working pattern will receive a Core Composite of 22% in addition to their base salary, which will count as salary for superannuation. The Commissioner has the authority to remove a composite from a role.
