What is the role?ACT Policing (ACTP) is seeking applications from suitable candidates to fill Senior Team Member roles within Human Resources.The Human Resources (HR) unit in ACTP is a multi-disciplinary team that operates in a fast-paced and flexible environment, providing high level HR guidance, support and solutions to the ACTP Executive and workforce. The team provides HR services such as Rostering, Recruitment, HR Advisory, Workforce Management, Workforce Reporting & Data Analysis, Injury Prevention & Management and HR Strategic Planning & Projects.Successful applicants may be offered a role as a Senior Team Member in one of the following HR teams:HR Rostering & AdvisoryThe Rostering and Advisory Team is responsible for the provision of sound, accurate and solution focussed HR advice to the ACTP Executive and workforce, including advice on HR legislation and governance, compliance, performance management and recruitment and onboarding services. The team are also responsible for working with ACTP management to facilitate the rostering for all ACTP members to ensure ACTP can meet day to day operational needs including rostering for special events and emergency management situations.Workforce Management and ReportingThe Workforce Management and Reporting team is responsible for planning, forecasting and monitoring resourcing levels to ensure the ACTP workforce is appropriately resourced, skilled and structured to achieve the AFP and ACTP's strategic and operational goals. The team undertakes regular reporting and data analysis to provide workforce insights and recommendations to the ACTP Executive and other internal and external stakeholders. The team is also responsible for the Secretariat function and support to the ACTP Workforce Management Committee (WMC) in managing the placement, development and mobility of ACTP members.HR Strategic Planning and ProjectsThe Strategic Planning and Projects team is primarily responsible for managing the development and implementation of ACTP workforce strategies in line the 2023-2028 ACTP Strategic Workforce Plan (SWFP). The SWFP is designed to identify critical workforce risks within the ACTP environment and formulate strategically aligned practical solutions, which can be implemented over the next five years.What will you do?The ACTP-HR Senior Team Member roles are responsible for leading, advising and reporting on ACTP-HR strategies, processes, and initiatives.The role requirements include the following:
  • Supporting the Team Leader to manage team resources and outcomes on project, reporting, and transactional tasks.
  • Coaching, leading, and supporting Team Members to ensure they have the necessary support, skills, and capability to achieve objectives.
  • Developing and implementing strategic HR management initiatives aligned with the ACTP Strategic Workforce Plan.
  • Providing high-level HR advice and services to ACTP Executive levels, Team Leaders, and other ACTP stakeholders to ensure compliance in accordance with relevant legislation, codes of practice and AFP Governance.
  • Writing and presenting reports on key strategic issues relating to strategic insights innovation, capability development, injury and wellbeing, and improvement opportunities which enhance the delivery of ACTP operational outcomes.
  • Reviewing and improving ACTP-HR business deliverables to meet the current and changing needs of ACTP.
  • Working with key stakeholders such as People Strategies, Quintiq, Corporate Service counterparts, and the ACTP Operational and Corporate Workforce.
  • Representing ACTP-HR at various internal and external forums and meetings.
  • Developing initiatives, processes, data analysis and interpretation, and written correspondence in collaboration with others.
Essential Requirements
  • You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
  • A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Previous experience in Human Resources in one or more of the following fields:
  • Rostering and scheduling/planning systems
  • HR advisory
  • Recruitment
  • Workforce reporting & data analysis
  • Workforce management
  • HR project management
Desirable RequirementsThe following skills and/or experience would be highly regarded:
  • Proven ability and desire to work in a fast paced, adaptive environment that responds to and supports an agile operational workforce.
  • Human Resources qualifications.
