What we are looking for:

As a Senior Technical Officer - Drainage, you will be instrumental in supporting the Senior Engineer Drainage by conducting thorough investigations into drainage and catchment systems.

Your expertise will play a crucial role in providing insights for infrastructure development and maintenance projects. But it's not just about technical prowess; your dedication to stellar customer service and effective communication with stakeholders will be equally crucial.

From open channels to underground drainage, you'll leave no stone unturned. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, you'll craft work schedules, propose designs, and ensure our solutions meet the highest standards. Your knack for problem-solving will shine as you navigate complex issues and provide expert advice on drainage matters.

What you should have to apply:

  • Diploma (AQF Level 5) or above, qualification in Civil Engineering or other qualification in a related field (or ability to obtain the relevant qualification within 3 months of appointment) and/or extensive relevant experience in a Civil Engineering environment
  • Experience with relevant software
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and regulations
  • Drive to succeed
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • High level interpersonal skills in order to provide excellent customer service and work effectively as part of a team
  • Queensland Class "C" drivers' licence

What's nice to have:

  • Extensive experience in a Local Government infrastructure environment
  • Extensive experience in a drainage or catchment environment
