About the facility

The Mental Health Therapy Services develops and provides specialist assessment, consultation and evidenced-based psychotherapies as part of consumer’s treatment within Barwon Health's Community Mental Health services. This includes dedicated allied health inputs, ASD services, comprehensive psychotherapy programs for personality disorders and/or a history of trauma, and a clinical psychology trainee program. The service contributes to increasing capacity across MHDAS to utilise and deliver specialist assessment and therapies.

About you

Registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia with endorsement to practice as a clinical psychologist
Registered to provide supervision to Grade 3 Psychologists, students and developing therapists
Significant professional experience as a Psychologist, including 5 years at a grade 3 level
Demonstrated skills in the psychological assessment, treatment and care of people with complex mental health issues

About the role

As the successful applicant you will provide clinical leadership in the delivery of evidence based psychotherapies and specialist psychological assessment and treatment for complex mental illness. You will lead one of our therapy streams and input into service development as a part of the MHTS leadership team. The senior therapist will work collaboratively with peer workers, community clinicians and psychiatrists to ensure people receive comprehensive care that helps consumer feel better. As a senior therapist you will provide supervisory input to staff and students and contribute to an interprofessional working culture that values innovation and diversity.
