The City is looking for an experienced Senior Urban Designer to lead the concept design development of high-quality public realm projects and provide specialist professional/technical services and advice relating to urban design and landscape management projects of a high level of complexity.
This position will undertake the development of proposals and studies relating to the urban environment, including the preparation of project briefs, selection and management of multi-disciplinary project teams, consultants, and/or contractors, and prepare reports for the project implementation and Council where required.
As the Senior Urban Designer, you will support the City by:
Taking a lead role in the development of concept designs for complex public realm projects.
Preparing management plans and policy recommendations in relation to urban design and landscape matters.
Successfully Leading, motivating, and managing a multi-disciplined project team for capital works projects of high complexity.
Providing management support to the Lead City Designer in the development and implementation of initiatives for the Unit’s programs and projects.
This role requires the provision of high-quality service to internal and external customers and the ability to provide guidance, mentoring, and support to less experienced urban design staff on a range of projects.
