In this Perth-based role, you’ll work with the Mine Waste Manager and wider Mine Waste team as a Senior Water Dams Engineer. Provide technical direction and/or input to embankment dam design and review studies and related analyses.

We have a comprehensive understanding of the mining industry and current issues including decarbonisation and understand future ready strategies are critical to countering these issues, capitalising on opportunities, and adding value to businesses.
What you’ll do:
Provide technical direction or input to embankment dam design and review studies and related analyses.
Fulfill Engineer of Record and Deputy Engineer of Record roles on water storage facilities.
Provide recommendations in area of dams and water management to clients
Liaise with specialists from other disciplines or offices within WSP.
Provide senior technical input to project teams and ensuring that appropriate technical standards are developed and maintained.
Assess and understand credible failure modes and how they apply to specific tailings storage facilities.
Leadership of multi-disciplinary project teams on local, regional, and international consulting assignments.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring for staff in the regional team and reviewing their project work.
Deliver best practice consulting services to clients in Australia and overseas.
Maintain effective client relationships and generate consulting business.
Build and maintain business networks.
Project management, budgeting, and quality control for tailings, mine waste, heap leach and similar assignments.
About you:
Bachelor Qualification in Civil/Mining Engineering or similar.
Proven working experience on tailings/mine waste related projects locally or internationally, ideally in a consulting environment.
Familiar with ANCOLD guidelines and current industry practice in dam engineering.
Ability to work independently and within multi-disciplinary project teams.
Hold a current manual drivers’ licence.
