Your new role...
Due to the continued success of our Australian operations, our Water business is seeking a Senior/Associate/Principal Planning Engineer to join our growing Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast or Brisbane office. You will be working with key clients locally while still being nationally focused.
As a Principal/Senior Planning Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and undertaking the technical assessment of water supply and sewerage networks to address drivers such as renewals and growths by, undertaking options assessments, feasibility investigations, detailed planning and functional design projects as well as the preparation of business cases. You will also have exposure to and support our asset management and strategy development functions.
Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to...
- Leading and undertaking key technical tasks across a broad range of medium to high profile water infrastructure projects.
- Prepare well written technical reports on small to medium projects.
- Supervise and coordinate project team members to achieve project outcomes
- Participate in industry associations.
- Lead/contribute to/prepare proposals on medium to large projects.
- Comply with all roles specific SHEQ obligations.
What we’ll love about you...
Joining as a senior member of our Water Asset Planning and Management team, you will have experience leading the delivery of efficient and effective engineering consultancy services to our public and private sector clients including the preparation of client-focused proposals. You will also be proficient in:
- Providing key technical expertise across a broad range of projects.
- Planning of water supply and sewerage networks and an understanding of their operation
- Developing concept designs and associated detailed planning investigations for water and sewerage infrastructure
- Understanding and implementation of hydraulic principles and renewals approaches
- Analytics techniques and use of decision support methodologies such as MCA, risk assessments, opportunities and constraints, costs and benefits etc
- The use of GIS and excel to interrogate and assess data
- Preparation of reports and maps
- Leading project scoping or proposal development
- Developing and maintaining client relationships and business development
- Developing skills to identify risk in medium/large profile, projects.
To be considered for this role, you will typically have...
- 8+ years of experience in water engineering, and previous experience in a consultancy environment highly desirable
- Proven experience in the capacity to deliver the best client outcomes/options which have saved the client cost/time
- Experience in managing risk on substantial projects
- Knowledge of project management including managing the scope of multiple projects and leading resources
- Recognised Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering) or Equivalent.
- Chartered status CPENG & RPEQ, an advantage
The salary range for this role is $120K - $155K TRP depending on experience and seniority.
