About the role
The Technical Operations Manager leads the network and systems teams and is a key member of the Leadership team. The Technical Operations Manager works collaboratively with Management in order to ensure their team members are able to complete all tasks accurately and in a timely manner. They also ensures that team priorities and goals, needs, and achievements are coordinated with other key areas of the business, inline with the strategic plan. Ultimately to assist in achieving/exceeding engineering services business objectives and the company's forecasted revenue/GP objectives.
Responsibilities
Lead and motivate the Network and Systems team to high levels of performance
Input to strategic analysis for the network and systems capability and organise resources, training and personnel to support provision of capability
Assess new technologies, provide evaluations and train subordinates to enable them to take over development of the technology into the future
Identify, review and implement professional services strategies devised to maximise the productivity and performance of the network and systems teams and ultimately to ensure that all SLA's are achieved/exceeded and business objectives are met
Build and maintain relationships with customers and vendors/suppliers and act as an escalation point as required
Effective Project management to ensure quality, timely and standardised delivery
Identify and implement professional services strategies
Monitor team performance and ensure training is achieved
Improve technical delivery and execution of change management process
Sales suport in pre-sales, tenders as required
Skills and experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing technical teams
Demonstrated experience in design and implementation of IT Infrastructure, including Networks, Servers, Storage and Virtualization
Strong leadership and communication skills
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Experience in developing and implementing processes and procedures
Understanding of ITIL framework and its implementation
Experience in managing budgets and financial reporting
Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
