Your new role
This organisation is currently in search of a seasoned Service Delivery Manager to enhance our IT Service Management team’s capabilities in managing ongoing operations and facilitating merger initiatives. The Service Delivery Manager will operate with considerable independence, adhering to broad guidelines, and will oversee the provision of ITIL® compliant Service Management. This role encompasses the integration of various ITIL® processes and the assurance of uninterrupted Service Delivery to the wider enterprise, including employees and external partners. The primary duties involve comprehensive incident management, coordination with stakeholders, managing changes, and overseeing IT Asset Information. This includes the upkeep and periodic review of knowledge repositories. The position also necessitates participation in an on-call rotation schedule, which includes availability during non-business hours and weekends.
What you'll need to succeed
Experience -
- The candidate showcases a robust background in IT Service Management, evidenced by a history of success in this field.
- They possess a comprehensive grasp of IT Operating frameworks and their impact on aspects such as financial oversight, vendor relations, contractual agreements, and program coordination.
- The individual has a track record of roles focused on client satisfaction, having devised inventive approaches that have significantly enhanced service levels.
- They have substantial experience in the governance of IT services, staying abreast of industry trends and best practices, and the development of support mechanisms, especially within expansive and intricate settings.
- The applicant has a thorough knowledge of ITIL® Processes and is well-versed in the principles, methodologies, and instruments of Service Management.
- They are distinguished by outstanding communication abilities, both written and oral, and are adept at engaging and motivating others through a consultative and cooperative approach to high-stakes negotiations and interactions.
- The candidate is noted for their ability to work autonomously, think strategically and creatively, and demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills.
- They have a verified ability to strategize, prioritize, and execute plans within a vast and multifaceted organization.
- Experience in the higher education sector is considered an asset.
•Working toward ITIL® expert qualification (Desirable).
•Post-graduate qualifications (or working towards) in the field of computer science, engineering or management and extensive relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/ or education/ training.
