About the role
The successful candidate will provide leadership, operational and strategic direction of Nutrition and Dietetic services at John Hunter Hospital, Rankin Park Centre and Belmont District Hospital. This position will be based at John Hunter Hospital and lead a clinical team of 17.96 FTE. The position will oversee the professional practice standards within the department while providing excellent patient care and an efficient service in order to maximise health outcomes of the patients and community. This includes workforce planning and management issues, providing professional advice, consultancy and supervision and proactively contributing to implement clinical governance. The position may also manage a clinical load commensurate with other duties.
The successful applicant will be supported by the Executive General Manager and the Allied Health Executive Representative as well as the other Allied Health Profession Service Managers. This position contributes as a member of the JHH/RPC/BDH Allied Health Service Managers team and will attend meetings and other various committees as required.

John Hunter Hospital (JHH) Nutrition and Dietetics Department provides services to John Hunter Hospital, Rankin Park Centre (RPC) and Belmont District Hospital (BDH). The Nutrition and Dietetics department is committed to providing high quality and innovated services to meet the needs of patients and the community.
About you
JHH is seeking a professional, dedicated and transformational leader who can motivate, empower, mentor and support the development and progression of others. They must display strong leadership, communication/ negotiation and organisational skills to ensure the provision of a safe, patient centred, innovative high quality Nutrition and Dietetic services to JHH/RPC and BDH.
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
