The role
An exciting opportunity is available for a Service Technician to join our service department based out of our Virginia, Brisbane branch. The role is responsible to ensure efficient maintenance of our client's fleet of Sandvik Mining equipment. Sandvik is seeking applications from a motivated Service Technician for our team. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient maintenance and repair of our client’s Sandvik Mining equipment both in the workshop and local sites.
Roster and hours of work may change from time to time, in line with customer needs. Workshop based component repair is also a key part of this role. Whilst the role will require inspections, preventative maintenance, fault finding and repairs on a wide range of mining equipment, demonstrated previous experience with surface and/or underground drilling equipment would be a distinct advantage.
Areas of responsibility
As the Service Technician, you will be:
- Carrying out general mechanical duties, maintenance, repairs, and fault diagnosis work on all Sandvik Mining equipment.
- Performing mechanical maintenance duties as per maintenance plans while upholding the integrity of the equipment and ensuring safe operation is not compromised.
- Providing feedback for efficient maintenance planning improvements.
- Record keeping of parts usage, equipment monitoring, time records.
- Adhering to all policies & procedures, especially EHS policies
Your profile
- Australian recognized Mechanical Trade Certification
- Mechanical background and Minimum 3 + years post trade experience
- Pro-active, self-motivated and demonstrate initiative
- Ability to think outside the box and find solutions
- Strong and proven safety culture
- Strong customer service focus and motivation to achieve targets and goals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Solid computer literacy
- Class C Manual Driver Licence
- You must have the right to live and work in Australia
- The ability to pass drug & alcohol test, reference checks and police checks.
