Job Description


The Opportunity

We are seeking a talented administrator with the passion to bring an enduring positive impression into our operations and refine how processes and policies define our enablement culture. We will be relying on your extensive industry experience in IT operations, infrastructure management and emerging technologies to be the catalyst that propels our client’s operational capability into a new era of automation.

The ServiceNow Administrator primarily works on the multiple “on premises” and cloud deployments of the ServiceNow Platform, but also assists to support integration with Service Manager 9 system via ServiceNow Integration Hub and other assorted Inventory Systems and Databases. They ensure these platforms deliver their service to their Users seamlessly, while also performing further development upon them to deliver an even better service.

Duties

  • Supporting ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, ITBM and Discovery modules of ServiceNow
  • Supporting ServiceNow platforms, including daily checks
  • Acting as a SME in the Platform, answering queries and questions of the User community
  • Assisting work activities to ensure the currency, accuracy, and completeness of Cis. All the way from CI creation through to maintenance of Discovery Schedules including discovery ranges, vLans and credentials
  • Ensuring the Mid-Server environment stays healthy
  • Create Dashboards for yourself and the User community
  • Creating new data entry points for Event Management, and supporting those connections
  • Performing all activities required to assist the team to upgrade the ServiceNow Platform to the latest versions
  • Liaise with and assist stakeholders in meeting business objectives with minimal development or customisation of the toolset
  • Review and approve all changes to Application infrastructure where applicable
  • Review and approve significant IT infrastructure changes to ensure impacts to the Application service are properly addressed
  • Mentors the organization on use of the Platform, ITSM, and ITIL.
  • Provides and approves all requirements, use cases, user stories, etc. in support of new or improving functionality
  • Provide support to your team peers when required, particularly junior and graduate staff
  • Rotational requirement to be on call (paid)

You will have intimate understanding of the platform and modules (ITSM, ITOM, ITAM) capability to ensure we are realising full value for money in the utilisation of time saving and best practice functionality.

Skills and Qualifications

We don’t expect an applicant to have everything we list – we look after just too many systems. We offer a rich training program to cover what you don’t know. But any skillsets in the following it would be highly considered:

  • Experience in the Administration of any ITSM product. ServiceNow preferably.
  • Certifications & Qualifications for any ITSM product. ServiceNow preferably.
  • CMDB experience
  • Discovery experience. ServiceNow Discovery preferably.
  • Good understanding of ITOM and Discovery ServiceNow preferably
  • ITIL v3/v4 qualification.
  • Any experience in the integration of two Enterprise IT systems.
  • Database experience (an advantage)
  • Linux command line (an advantage)
  • Javascript
  • Sharepoint Administration (an advantage)
  • And of course, you need the usual:
    • Good presentation, engagement, and communication skills (written & verbal)
    • Customer focused, demonstrating empathy with others, good listening and questioning skills
    • Solid technical, logical & problem solving skills
    • Solid documentation skills
    • Detail-oriented and accurate
    • Ability to work well with others, contribute to team values and rapport-building across the organisation
    • Effective prioritisation skills with the ability to execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
    • Ability to work flexible schedules

This role requires the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold, or be able to obtain an NV-2 security clearance
