What does the role involve?
As a ServiceNow Administrator, reporting to the Configuration Management Lead, you will be responsible for the ongoing support, governance, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the CMDB, Discovery and Service Mapping tools in ServiceNow.
We will rely on you to define and create service maps and govern critical CMDB relationships to equip people across all levels to understand their Application Services and the infrastructure that underpins them.
You will work closely alongside the service owners and technical support teams to understand their applications and environments.
You will also work closely alongside your Configuration Management team members to help mature the Discovery and Service Mapping function by designing and building effective Discovery and Service Mapping processes and procedures.
Some of your day-day responsibilities will include:
- Providing day-to-day support and maintenance of the Discovery and Service Mapping Applications. This includes troubleshooting discovery failures, monitoring discovery schedules and investigating incidents raised by users
- Building service maps for all suitable enterprise Application Services
- Facilitating service mapping workshops to obtain the necessary information to build service maps
- Providing Mentorship and training on ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping to end-users and Configuration Management team members
- Setting up the service mapping application services and mapping, fixing, and maintaining application services
- Work with the ServiceNow Platform team to investigate and resolve complicated ServiceNow discovery integration issues
- Performing advanced configuration of the products
- Driving technical and process Improvements related to Discovery, Service Mapping, CMDB and Data Model
- Helping to mature the recently established Service Mapping function in the Service Asset and Configuration Management team
What skills and experience are we looking for?
- A minimum of 3 years experience in Service Management practices, with a demonstrated understanding of the key concepts associated with managing a CMDB.
- Technology Configuration Management experience in a large complex IT services environment.
- Process ownership/management and governance experience.
- Experience with ServiceNow discovery and service mapping, with a broad understanding of enterprise infrastructure and applications.
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) is required, in addition, the other ServiceNow Certifications are nice to have.
You will have well-developed negotiation skills and a strong ability to influence outcomes. You are self-sufficient with a focus on improving and developing your skills to match the changing market.
