  • Salary to be negotiated with successful candidate/s
  • Work out of NDIA's state of the art office in Geelong, Victoria
Our participants, Our people, Our purpose

Opportunities currently exist at the SES Band 3 classification to join the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA). We are responsible for implementing the world leading National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIA), which is one of the biggest social reforms since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 530,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and provide a peace of mind for every Australian.

A new role awaits

NDIA are seeking high performing senior executive candidates to fill roles at the SES Band 3 classification who will provide technical, professional, specialist, and strategic advice to the Chief Executive Officer, the Board and the Minister. These significant roles will be required to make decisions within their area of accountability and lead and contribute to the strategic planning of the NDIA’s objectives and set strategic direction. You will plan, lead, and deliver highly complex and significant outcomes, projects and work programs that have strategic, political and operational significance to the NDIA. As an important member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) you will play your part in implementing operational strategies aimed at achieving the NDIA’s mission to ‘build a world-leading National Disability Insurance Scheme’.

Where you can add value

We are looking for people to support our focus on redesigning our systems and processes. We know there is a direct link between making it easier for our staff and partners to do their job and delivering a better NDIS experience for participants and providers. Our systems improvement work will continue in 2023, with the roll-out of a contemporary, custom-built participant-facing system. It promises to bring significant improvements to the quality and efficiency of our service delivery, and we are seeking high performing executives to join our team to help us achieve our goal of building a world leading scheme.

SES Band 3 positions deliver strategic leadership across a broad range of outcomes within the NDIA. The most significant contribution of roles is outcome delivery and effective resource management. This includes development of delivery responses to policy objectives. Roles are accountable for a measurable impact on the Agency through the management of financial, human, and physical resources.

You will take responsibility for the provision of policy advice. This advice reflects research and analysis of financial and other implications and stakeholder views obtained through consultations, and articulation of policy in policy statements, regulatory or financial measures and legislation. You will also be accountable for information gathering and risk assessment, and the design and implementation of compliance and enforcement programs within a governance framework.

Our ideal candidate

We are seeking a proven performer who can demonstrate a track record of success in delivering outcomes in a complex environment. Ideally, you will bring a blend of broad and deep experiences which encompass best practice operations management in a service delivery setting; process re-engineering; transformation and change in a digital setting; program and project management and a continuous improvement mindset.

We welcome applications from high performing executives who want to be part of our continued Scheme delivery improvements that will benefit participants and partners through intensive, genuine co-design.

Your NDIA Experience

We work as one team. We are accepting, diverse and driven. We take a shared approach to making progress. We welcome and support each other and encourage different ideas, insights and opinions. We empower and enable each other to be our best. Collaborating, connecting and creating a workplace that we can all be proud of. And while we are based far and wide across the country, we make sure nobody feels they're out on their own.

While these roles are ideally performed from Geelong, remote working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill these roles in an ongoing capacity however, non-ongoing roles may be offered.

Applications for these roles close 11:30pm AEDT Friday 9 December 2022.
