As a SHE Advisor, you will support the line of business through the provision of specialist advice, support and knowledge of SHE principles and practices to continually improve safety, health and environment performance to meet our legal obligations.
This opportunity will see you:
- Contribute to the development of project/function training needs analysis, and work with the SHE Capability and Governance team to co-ordinate and deliver training activities.
- Lead initial response to incident investigations and identifying and contributing to the close out of corrective actions.
- Facilitate the identification and management SHE implications to minimise adverse effects and maximise positive effects.
- Provide technical, organisational and strategic information to inform risk analysis and risk assessment processes.
- Liaise with and maintains positive relationships with the key clients, industry leaders and SHE regulatory agencies.
- Lead and facilitate SHE knowledge and skills development to meet legal and risk management requirements.
As an ideal applicant for this role, you'll have:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels.
- Be an Australian Citizen with eligibility to obtain and maintain defence security clearance to a minimum of NV1.
- Experience in the management of safety, health and environment in a high risk work environment (i.e. mining, construction, manufacturing).
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relevant legislative, regulatory and compliance frameworks and governance requirements.
- WHS Diploma, Tertiary Qualification in Safety or related discipline (Desired).
- Demonstrated experience in providing advice at middle to senior management level on high risk/impact matters.
Clearances
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
