 About the Role 

Our Blue Mountains Shelter located in Katoomba, NSW is looking for a Supervisor who will play an integral role in delivering positive animal care outcomes and delivering exceptional customer service. 

  • Developing and guiding staff and volunteers
  • Ensuring a high standard of animal wellbeing is maintained 
  • Delivering an exceptional service to members of the public and clients
  • Ensure that the Shelter’s activities are in line with RSPCA NSW's strategic direction and operational plans
  • Assisting with managing the team budget
  • Proactively engaging with internal and external stakeholders 

This role is being offered on a full-time basis with hours worked across a 7-day rotating roster including alternative weekends and occasional public holidays. 

About You

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a management role with day-to-day supervision of a team
  • Animal handling and animal care experience desirable  
  • Experience working with diverse internal and external stakeholders and the ability to maintain positive relationships with such stakeholders 
  • NSW driver's licence
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Initiative and ability to prioritize
  • Resilience in dealing with emotional challenges

About the Blue Mountains Shelter 

  • Blue Mountains Shelter is located in Katoomba, NSW and has the capacity to care for 55 canines, 44 felines and various pocket pets. This is done by an Animal Attendant team supported by volunteers. 
  • The Shelter looks after a large geographical area and provides adoption ready cats and kittens to the Petbarn store in Katoomba.
  • The Shelter also provides impound services for the Blue Mountains City Council.
