The Opportunity
Come and discover the opportunity to join our Hot Strip Mill at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as a Shift Fitter As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
In this hands-on role, you will ensure that equipment is maintained to the highest standards to meet our objectives for safety, quality and reliability. You will apply your mechanical fitting skills and experience to complete both complex and routine maintenance tasks. You will:
- isolate equipment and perform maintenance
- inspect quality critical equipment and fault find
- resolve issues and fix any non-conformances
- seek ways to continuously improve our maintenance strategies
We have two 12-month fixed-term contracts on offer. This is a shift position working on a 12-hour 24 x 7 rotating roster (2x days, 2x nights and 4 days off) Monday through to Sunday.
More About You
You will have a strong technical background with the ability to work effectively and flexibly in a team environment. You will also have:
- mechanical trade qualifications
- experience within a maintenance function
- experience working both independently and as part of a manufacturing team
- strong attention to detail with the ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
- a commitment to your own safety and wellbeing and care for others
What Will You Do?
You will apply your technical expertise to ensure that all mechanical equipment is maintained, as well as assisting with other Ore Preparation tasks. You will:
