We are currently seeking applications from experiencedShotfirers and Leading Hand Shotfirers for Full-Time positions on a7/7 roster at our northern Bowen Basin Projects including our IsaacDowns and Broadlea Projects.
Reporting to the Drill and Blast Supervisor, you will beresponsible for, but not limited to:
- Inspecting blasting areas for conditions affecting safe and efficient preparation of the shot
- Co-ordinating equipment and people to deliver the blast to firing time
- Familiarity with a range of non-electric and electric blasting products and bulk products
- Understanding of timing for best quality results affecting vibration, fragmentation, separation and flyrock
- Ordering and overseeing delivery of blast products plus maintenance of the magazine and stocktakes
- Co-ordination of signage, clearance and notification for the blast
- Oversee the on-the-job training and safe work compliance of the shot crew members
- Communicate professionally with supervisors and client
- Safe use, transport and handling of explosives on site.
Experience required:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Current Unrestricted Shotfirer’s Licence
- HR Class QLD Drivers Licence
- Current Coal Board Medical
- Standard 11
