Role: Signalling and Infratructure Lead

The primary responsibility of the Signaling and Infrastructure Lead - ANZ is to manage the bids and projects portfolio for the discipline, including the tender and projects processes for scope. This would include building and managing a team to be accountable for the deployment of tenders and project delivery. 

Responsibilities:

- Execution of the projects in the portfolio to enable creation of optimal and profitable value for Ricardo. 

- Manage and deploy Tender and Bid Deliverables 

- Execution and Management of Business development initiatives encompassing Signalling, Infrastructure, and Rolling Stock integration services securing new projects   

- This includes providing Signalling and Infrastructure concept design services with a focus on operational and maintenance considerations. Evaluating and introducing products relevant to Signalling and Infrastructure market segment from the broader market and from the Ricardo portfolio. 

- Interface with the wider BU management team to report, and mange risks and various issues regarding tenders and projects within the services scope. 

- Building and leading a projects team that is accountable for Quality, Cost, Delivery and Performance. 

- Champion the implementation of Signalling and Infrastructure Processes across the portfolio.

- Robust understanding of System engineering and integration services across the railway industry with a focus on automatic train operations and control

- Knowledgeable and demonstrable success in Project and Bid Management 

- Demonstrated experience in a Senior Leadership position, in the development of a services organisation. 

- Good Commercial Acumen, ability to maximise opportunities that benefits both client and Ricardo 

- Strong Influencing and Negotiation skills, experience in a Business Development role 

- Build and drive productive, collaborative and cooperative relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, partners and service providers to ensure best practice project management 

- Customer Focused mindset able to provide direct strategic advice and guidance to the clients best practice from a rail network perspective. 

- Project management, systems engineering, concept development, operations & maintenance advice 

- Knowledge and demonstrable experience of appropriate project management techniques

- Highly numerate and analytical, with an ability to translate project and business data into tangible insights and recommendations  

- Good awareness of project management processes and data, able to support others in developing these skillsets 

Requirements:

  • - 15+ years in railway rail infrastructure management and/or rail consultancy 
  • - 10+ years’ experience in a externally facing leadership role 
  • - Tertiary degree qualifications in Engineering 
  • - Additional Diploma or Master of Project Management preferred 
  • - Excellent relationship building, communication and interpersonal skills 
  • - Ability to provide situational leadership, seeking opportunities for the wider business 
  • - Team Management & Staff Development 
  • - Sales and Business Development 
  • - Pricing and valuing products and services 
  • - Systems Integration 
  • - Comprehensive understanding of the ANZ Public Procurement process 
  • - Extensive experience in numerous contracting models including, Alliancing, Design & Construct, Operate & Maintain, Consulting, SaaS and JVs   
  • - Cultural awareness – International work experience 
  • - Superior decision-making and problem-solving skills
