Our Exciting Opportunity:
The Core Technician role plays an important part in supporting the Ericsson Construction organization. This involves installing and maintaining Core Networks and transmission systems at the required quality level, in the allocated time frame, and in the most efficient manner - with minimal disruptions to existing services. Interstate, night work or additional working hours may be required to meet with customer outage, hazard, and network risk minimisation.
In this role, you would:
Installing Core Networks and transmission systems:
- Read and understand designs and materials required to install
- Physically install optic fibre, RF and power cabling for core, radio and transmission networks systems
- Configure and integrate core, radio and transmission networks systems
- Complete testing protocols and record to required standards
- Ensure all completion artefacts are provided and systems are fully completed and accepted
- Align with all quality and HSE requirements while doing the above
- Read and understand designs and records
- Perform fault-finding, trouble-shooting and close out incident tickets as required
- Align with all quality and HSE requirements while performing duties
- Professionalism when working with customers and comprehensive security when on the customer premises
- Solid installation, commissioning and/or maintenance experience on Core exchange, DC Networks
- Solid installation, commissioning and/or maintenance experience on optic fibre transmission systems, RF systems and power systems
- Experience with using a laptop and IT systems as part of tools for integration, testing and communication
- May be required to apply for Government Baseline Security clearance as well as multiple customer access passes
- Experience in Base Band Hotels or In Building Coverage DAS or Dot systems
- Wideband transmission experience
- Optic fibre splicing experience and certification
- Understanding of mobile networks or radio transmission systems, i.e. microwave systems, RAN
- Ability to perform sweeps and effectively use test equipment (e.g. Anritsu Site Master)
- Experience installing or maintaining RAN networks / equipment, e.g. RBS
- Experience working on Australian telco networks, exchanges or data centres
- Good understanding of HSE aspects when working at heights (certification preferred) and with EME
- This role will suit a self-motivated individual with capacity to work alone within a fast-paced environment
- Good interpersonal skills, verbal communication skills and ability to effectively work with a culturally diverse workforce are also required.
