SalaryGold Coast Light Rail has transformed public transport on the Gold Coast, helping create an integrated network that connects more people to more places in one of Australia's most dynamic and fastest growing cities.
John Holland is GoldlinQ's nominated design and construction contractor for GCLR3, to extend the existing light rail network 6.7kms from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, including eight new light rail stations, two new light-rail bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the alignment.
Jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments, and the City of Gold Coast, this city-shaping project will link communities to business centres, shopping, dining, education and medical facilities and cater to the Gold Coast's expected population growth in the coming decades.
As construction of GCLR3 gets underway, John Holland is actively recruiting for talented and driven Site Engineers to join our Water & Wastewater team and play a key role in the successful delivery of this iconic Gold Coast project.
Responsibilities of the role include
- Assist with the preparation of Work Method Statements
- Work closely with the Projects Engineering & Supervisory team to ensure timely delivery of programme from a cost and time perspective
- Significant input in managing project Quality Systems with respect to inspections, checklists, documentation, and record keeping
- Planning & Programming
- Assist with procurement & supplier management
- Ensure compliance of the works undertaken in relation to technical specifications, applicable legislation, approvals and standards with a focus on risk management
- A degree within the relevant field (Engineering, Construction Management etc)
- 2-4+ years post qualification experience
- A sound understanding contemporary practices in construction methodology on civil infrastructure projects
- Experience in Utilities would be valuable in this role
- Passion for teamwork and delivering on tight deadlines
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
- Understanding of HSEQ management systems, compliance and reporting procedures
