About the Role:

An exciting opportunity exists for casual Site Interpreters who support the Adelaide Gaol site through assisting in the display and publication of historical information and materials. The incumbents also perform other associated work including researching and gathering historic information to educate the public through the delivery of educational tours for schools and special interest groups, and through the hosting of children's birthday parties.

Key Role Outcomes

  • Assisting in the production and promotion of special and standard exhibitions and the staging of display material.
  • Exhibits are maintained and are kept clean and tidy.
  • A range of interesting educational tours are delivered that interpret, inform and/or teach the history of the Adelaide Gaol.
  • The sales of tours and souvenirs, food and beverages are maximised through a high standard of consistently friendly service.
  • Educational tours are booked, maintaining a consistent and professional phone manner and email service.
  • Children's birthday parties are hosted ensuring that they are engaging and well executed.

Contract:
Casual contract for 12 months

Special Conditions:
  • A current National Police Clearance is essential.
  • A current Working with Children Check is essential
  • May be required to participate in fire management or associated duties.
  • Demonstrates ability to work alone and be self-reliant.
Remuneration:
GSE3 - $27.37 per hour - $27.67 per hour plus a 25% casual loading
