We store and market wheat, barley, canola, sorghum and specialty commodities, connecting over 10,000 growers with more than 1,000 end-market customers across the food, beverage, edible oils and animal feed industries. About the role
As Portland Site Manager, you would report to the Port Operations Manager for Victorian Ports and supervise a team of Grain Handlers (permanent staff and casual staff) to ensure that the site runs smoothly and efficiently.
You will be required to:
- Manage a diverse team
- Manage the accumulation and export of grain and non-grain commodities
- Ensure all operational tasks are executed efficiently within budget guidelines
- Develop and maintain planning to execute business needs
- Build strong customer relationships
- Negotiate new business opportunities
- Safety is a core value at GrainCorp and this person will follow and will help to ensure others follow all OHS systems and procedures.
About your experience
Ideally, you will have hands-on experience in a supervisory role gained within a port, agriculture, maintenance, mining, rail or similar. We’re looking for someone committed to developing, supporting and engaging their team; able to build positive and productive relationships; self-managing and enthusiastic.
A sound working knowledge of OH&S requirements is essential. Basic computing skills are required to work in our systems, as well as with calendar, email and spreadsheet tools.
