Using Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, the Cloud Technology practice operates and manages the AGL cloud tenancies delivering reliability, agility and automation for its cloud services and cloud tooling.
The SRE Cloud is an engineering role within Cloud Technology working within an SRE squad to deliver automated cloud functionality, improved service reliability, issues, performance and capacity management, new service development, and continuous improvement and optimisation
You will have:
- Proven experience in cloud SRE/engineering roles, including public cloud experience with a strong skill set and knowledge across IaaS, PaaS, cloud management products and cloud pattern development (Azure)
- Worked within cloud engineering, platform engineering, DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) teams, ideally in large corporates or government.
- Proficient in automation and orchestration tools including Terraform (highly desirable), Ansible, Cloudforms or native cloud automation tools and associated scripting languages.
- Advanced skills in one or more of the following software languages: C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl, Ruby, PowerShell, BASH
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills contributing to innovative cloud solutions and issues resolution
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey insights, ideas and options to stakeholders across a range of levels
- Effective interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills to gain the acceptance of ideas, cooperation of others and deliver outcomes
- Working knowledge of Agile and New Ways of Working (NWoW) practices
