We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join our team and help ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of our digital services and infrastructure.
This would suit ar a software developer with a passion for automation and continuous improvement who is interested in stepping into an operational role.
Key Responsibilities
-Improve infrastructure performance and operational efficiency by reducing service downtime and maintaining or reducing transaction duration times.
-Work closely with development teams, and relevant IT teams ensuring all business partners are considered and are informed of issues and risks in production and test environments.
-Develop Subject Matter Expertise for the managed Products and Platforms.
-Follow Organisational Change processes and procedures ensuring all necessary documentation is completed in necessary timeframes.
-Maintain systems and make recommendations for improvements to those systems. Write code and change config to facilitate the improvements.
-Actively drive incident resolution and system restoration within SLA's.
-Conduct root cause analysis and problem rectification, including data and software changes required to prevent a recurrence of the incident.
What we’re looking for
-Experience in software development and a strong understanding of software development practices.
-Experience with cloud-based infrastructure, such as AWS or Azure, and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
-Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Chef.
-Strong programming skills in one or more scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Powershell.
-Demonstrated experience in Java development and building Ops monitoring tools.
-Experience designing, debugging, and running fault-tolerant large-scale distributed systems.
