What does the job look like?
Based out of a key BevChain site in Somerton the Transport Manager will oversee the day-to-day transport operations of a multi customer site. We require an experienced Operations/Transport Manager that has P&L management experience within ideally a 3PL transport environment or a major retail customer.
Although this position will be based in Somerton initially, the site will be relocating to a brand new, state of the art facility in February 2024. Key Areas:
The Transport Manager has the responsibility for the overall transport operations on site and effective utilisation of all allocated resources as well as developing and improving operational performance and results to achieve budget
Evaluate and provide insights to KPI both weekly and monthly to improve operations in line with budgets and customer requirements
Identify key action items to develop the team, maintain operational effectiveness and customer requests
Identify improvement areas within the operations using the company and customer Continuous Improvement procedures
Maintain the relationship with key customer stakeholders and senior management of the business
Maintain customer relationships across all contract scopes
Maintain performance with COR, safety and compliance

This is a pivotal role based at a key site requiring a strong forward-thinking manager with extensive experience within the transport industry. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a wealth of experience providing leadership and effective commercial and operational decision making. You can demonstrate:
Experience in the beverage or retail industries will be highly regarded
Strong transport management background ideally within a 3PL retail environment
Previous P&L management experience with understanding of financial drivers and cost control across multiple cost centres
Proven management, supervisory, and leadership skills
Process driven, analytical and methodical
Previous customer / account management experience
