About us
The Doveton Neighbourhood Learning Centre (DNLC) is a not for profit organisation that has operated in Doveton for over 40 years. We are a small team of dedicated staff and volunteers who work to improve the lives of our community by providing a range of programs and activities that support each person to live independently and well. We offer a wide range of programs and activities, including pre-accredited learning, community kitchen garden, Morning Melodies and lots more. The DNLC offers 6 Social Support Planned Activity group sessions per week. We support a wide range of participants and work with participants in receipt of Home and Community Care, Commonwealth Home Support Program and NDIS.
Qualifications & experience
- COVID-19 and Influenza vaccinations mandatory unless exempt Minimum Cert III+ in Aged Care/ Individual Support, HACC or related qualification Current First Aid Certificate (level 2) or willingness to obtain it
- Demonstrated experience driving a 12 seater vehicle Proven ability in working in a team environment Current full, clear, driver’s licence essential
- Willingness to undergo current police check prior to commencing Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain it Minimum two (2) professional references Undergo Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme (DWES)
Tasks & responsibilities
- You will work in a small team to support all aspects of our Planned Activity Groups (PAG). The right person will assist participants to engage and participate in activities that will allow each person to socialise, maintain independence and help prevent social isolation and loneliness.
- Plan, implement and facilitate Social Support Planned Activity Group (PAG), assist with room set up and pack away, provide supervision and assistance in matters of personal care if required,
- drive 12 seat vehicle to pick up/ drop off clients attending programs and during excursions,
- facilitate special activities, outings and events from time to time, encourage appropriate participation of all clients Work with individuals focusing on individual goal plans, implement and observe WHS practices and procedures, continue Professional Development to ensure quality of care provision.
