Social Worker Team Leader

Where you'll be working:
This is an opportunity to work for the largest employer in the region which services a population of more than 900,000 across the Hunter, New England, and Lower Mid North Coast areas. John Hunter Hospital is a Level 6, tertiary referral, major trauma and teaching hospital and is the largest hospital in the Hunter New England Local Health District. The NSW Government has committed $835 million to redevelop the John Hunter and John Hunter Children's Hospital. The John Hunter Health and Innovation Precinct project will deliver an innovative and integrated precinct with industry-leading facilities. The project will work in collaboration with health, education, and research partners to meet the current and future needs of the greater Newcastle, Hunter New England, and Northern NSW regions.

Requirements:
- Must hold as a minimum a bachelor degree in Social Work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Willingness and ability to actively participate in the after-hours / weekend on-call roster covering John Hunter Hospital and John Hunter Children's Hospital.
- Eligible to drive in NSW and willingness to travel for work purposes.
This position is for you if:
- You enjoy mentoring staff and working in the fast-paced environment of a tertiary-level acute hospital.
- You enjoy the challenges of managing a large team – 14 FTE of level 1 – 4 staff and take on a proportional clinical workload to be negotiated.
- You are organised and flexible and have advanced communication skills to liaise with the Social Work and Multidisciplinary Team.
