Where you’ll be working
The Forster Community Mental Health Team is part of four Manning sites (Bulahdelah, Gloucester, Forster and Taree) located on the Lower Mid North Coast. This position is based at Forster Community Health Centre and requires the incumbent to work a 5 day roster – 8:30am – 5pm to provide acute mental health assessments and interventions in the Local Emergency Department, in community settings and on occasions in the wards of Manning Base Hospital.
About the Role
The community based position will primarily require you to provide intervention and consultation to adult clients between 18-65 years of age with occasions where you will be required to assess children, adolescents and older persons. Skills include communication skills, building therapeutic relationship, assessing risk, ability to perform mental state examination and team work within a multidisciplinary team.
The position is located within a multidisciplinary team and is supported by a Clinical Coordinator to ensure quality care coordination of clients within the Taree and surrounding areas that is person centred and involves ongoing collaboration within the multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes.

Information for Applicants:
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
