About the role:
Mental Health Emergency Care (MHEC) operates from Bloomfield Hospital, Orange. The Social Worker is part of a multi-disciplinary team of experienced mental health clinicians. The role includes providing consultation liaison services via telehealth, which includes comprehensive assessment and crisis management in order to facilitate best outcomes for rural and remote consumers in NSW.

MHEC provide Mental Health triage and assessment of crisis Emergency Department presentations via audio visual and telephone links.

Our small team is a 24/7 multi-disciplinary service covering 47 emergency departments throughout Western and Far Western NSW. In addition to our ED video consultation and liaison work, MHEC have a 1800 Mental Health Line providing information and support to GP’s and other stakeholders over a diverse range of cultural and geographic settings.

Our rapidly expanding model of virtual Mental Health Care can provide clinicians with skills that can guide their practice throughout their career in Mental Health Practice.
