We work in a fast-paced environment, using and developing cutting edge technologies to deliver next-generation solutions to government and commercial organisations. Cogito is looking to expand and is seeking candidates with the right ability, attitude and aptitude.
We are looking for Software Developers who are passionate about IT, have a foundational understanding of IT general knowledge, and have the potential to develop skills in a number of disciplines related to DevOps Engineer / Full-Stack Developer in the cyber security space.
This position is a great opportunity for someone who has a keen interest in platform design and system administration, as well as for those with these skills already and who would like to expand their knowledge to include PKI, Identity Management, and IT Security.
A successful candidate must be a self-starter, quick learner and have the ability to work independently. Being a hard worker with strong work ethic, you will be willing to work across all areas of development, integration and system administration. You must also be willing to travel if required.
Specifically, you will:
- Have a strong aptitude and willingness to learn new skills

- Provide innovative solutions and high-level support
- Perform software development on existing systems for enhancement and maintenance
- Perform software design and development of new systems/features
- Perform system integration and testing
- Support the configuration and administration of systems and networks
- Design, install and support networking solutions such as routers, switches and firewalls
- Design, install and support servers and desktops (both Linux and Windows)
- Write code in at least one language (e.g. Javascript, Go, C#, Python)
- Maintain user and system documentation
- Research and evaluate products and services
- Install, upgrade and support open source and specialised commercial software packages.

- [Desirable] Experience in developing software (through prior work experience, personal projects, or open-source projects)
- [Desirable] Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact positively and effectively both individually and as a member of a small team.
Qualifications / Experience requirements:
Degree in Software Engineering/Computer Science (or a related discipline), or equivalent work experience.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will be a strong team player and an open and effective communicator with the ability to work autonomously and contribute to overall team outcomes. The nature of this role will suit a person who works with a sense of urgency and has a proactive work ethic.
This role will be delivering a project to a Federal Government client. It is compulsory that you are an Australian Citizen, and you must have current NV1 security clearance. Candidates with current NV2 or OSA will also be preferred.
