My client is a global innovator of highly complex medical/healthcare devices, looking for a software engineer to design new test systems and test rigs, ensuring that test systems are fit for purpose.

With a recent move to their new, larger and state of the art facility, this publicly listed ASX200 medical devices company develops, manufactures and commercialises a range of unique healthcare related solutions for an international client base. In an exponential growth phase, they are committed to developing innovative technologies in the healthcare space.
The Role
This Software Engineer role is initially a 12-month contract with a view to extension or permanency. You will be reporting to the Test Systems Manager and designing new test systems and test rigs, ensuring that test systems are fit for purpose.
Key responsibilities:
- Design, develop and deploy cloud-based solutions in Azure or AWS, and Kubenetes
- Develop microservices and integrate with third-party systems via Restful APIs
- Develop front end applications using HTML, CSS, Java or Java Script
- Develop applications for NoSQL and SQL databases
- Develop analysis and reporting applications using Jupyter Notebook and Grafana
Skills and experience
With a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, you will have an innovative approach to drive product vision with a sharp focus on delivering the goals and needs of your customers. You will ideally have about 3 years' experience developing software in a commercial setting, however graduates with some relevant project/internship exposure will be considered.
Proficiency in Python, C#, C++, .NET programming
Experience in front end applications using HTML, CSS, Java Script
Experience with full stack development teams owning APIs, UIs, and data stores.
Experience with software development methodologies like Kanban, SCRUM, or Scrumban
Familiarity with DevOps, Git and Bamboo
Knowledge of and advocate for Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment and Software Engineering best practices
Ability to deal with a high degree of ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly and big, finding solutions on your feet
Exposure to building data pipelines for ML and data visualisation - desirable
Experience with integration and deployment of MES applications - desirable
Exposure to manufacturing automation and control systems - desirable
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
