About the team
This position of Software Engineer will help to enable the Release and Environments team to increase throughput and reliability by:
mentoring of junior engineers
helping to learn, build out and encourage DevOps capability in the area
demonstrating a passion for efficiency and continuous improvement
As a Software Engineer, you will:
Help with security, performance, monitoring, baselining, and tooling.
Learn and develop standards and ways of working in the DevOps space.
Learn and understand the Store Customer space here at Coles and provide recommendations on the most efficient way for software to flow into our Test team.
Provide Technical support for the team members using the Store Customer Platform assets and applications in the Test Lab.
Ensure the software baseline across the non-production and production environments is maintained and that variations to the baseline are minimised.
Minimize operational impact to production.
Maintain the knowledge base for any new or existing work.
Provide recommendations on how best to release and monitor software as we push this into Production, based on learnings in the Environments Space.
Maintain a safe working environment in the Test Lab.
Accountable for individual compliance with company values, policies, and procedures (including Coles Code of Conduct) and all applicable external laws and regulations.
About you and your skills
Experience in supporting business critical applications.
2+ years of development experience.
A passion for Software Craftmanship
Demonstrated experience and understanding of all elements of the development lifecycle.
An interest in supporting complex integrated applications.
Strong analytical and problem resolution skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Commercial Skills and Formal Qualifications
Relevant tertiary qualification and/or IT industry experience
