What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
Develop modular, readable and robust code for defence systems adhering to security and functional requirements
Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, systems engineering, agile development, review, testing, integration, and verification
Dealing with customers and presenting design details during customer reviews
Collaborate effectively with both software and other engineering disciplines as well as management, to ensure comprehensive coverage of requirements as efficiently as possible
Write and maintain both internal and deliverable documentation, either directly or through supervision of contractors
Participate in demo activities for the purpose of sharing knowledge
What you’ll bring
Minimum of 2 years software engineering experience within defence
Ability to write concise documentation in line with project reporting requirements
Demonstrated experience with at least 1 core programming language; Embedded C/C++ (RTOS or bare metal), C/C++ Application Development (Linux / Windows), VHDL (FPGA)
Experience with non-essential programming languages: Python, Modern web development
Version Control; GitLab, Bitbucket
Compilation Tooling
Continuous Integration Tooling; Jenkins, GitLab Runners
Virtualisation technologies
