About the role:
As an Software Engineering Team Lead you'll play a critical role as a technology leader across multiple delivery teams working on a common domain. You'll provide leadership, coaching and support to delivery teams to balance technology, delivery, and product outcomes in alignment with HUB24 objectives.
As a leader with deep technical skills, you'll help your team to design solutions, maintain and improve coding standards, reliability, scalability and maintainability of our software. You will lead the development of solutions across the whole stack and including the expansion of the front end development framework.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of support and site reliability engineers to provide continual improvements to the tooling, monitoring and reliability metrics within the platform
- Assist in building out the Class Tech Radar and to drive change and improvements to techniques, tools, languages and platforms utilised across the teams
- Ensure development standards and best practices are maintained and utilised across team functions including QA engineering.
- Assist QA team with the design and extensible use of the functional automation test framework to ensure it fits with internal standards around well architected frameworks that are also utilised by the development team
- Work closely with architects and other Team Leaders to provide technical leadership across your scrum team to ensure the products we build are delivered to high standards and consistency across teams
- Use key delivery and operational metrics to identify & drive opportunities for improvement
- Work with product managers, project managers and scrum masters to define and decompose product roadmaps. Ensure the roadmap development includes key technical aspects which continuously improve our ability to run and operate our products at scale
- Work within your domain, and across a vertical, to drive the strategy of our products & architecture forward.
- Ensure security and compliance obligations are met for development teams
- Assist with escalated support requests and incidents and facilitate teams with root cause analysis to fix issues and prevent recurring defects
- Helping with the skills development of the Engineering Team around specific technologies used within HUB24 including front end development frameworks
Skill requirements:
- Strong web development skills with deep understanding of microservice architectures utilising docker containers
- Advanced knowledge of C#, Javascript, HTML and CSS with exposure to Vue.js
- Good working knowledge of AWS, Postgres, Github and Bamboo
- Experience working in complex system architectures
- Demonstrated experience in driving continual improvement, ensuring there is strong alignment to business outcomes
