Your key responsibilities will include:
- Work with the Technical Delivery Manager to identify solution capabilities and assure strategic alignment, especially across cloud environments.
- Architect an Azure enterprise-scale landing zone solution which is fit for purpose, aligns to Queensland Health standards and meets stakeholder requirements.
- Assist in the definition, documentation and establishment of platform-ops and sec-ops functions to ensure the solution can be successfully delivered and scaled in an operational setting. This includes defining operating, cost and support models.
- Work with the cloud engineers to build and test the solution, creating necessary documentation to complete governance requirements prior to a production implementation.
- Ensure system requirements are sufficiently captured to drive the architecting of a platform that fully meets the needs and expectations of system stakeholders.
- Conduct and document architectural trade-off analysis to support and justify architectural decisions made during the specification of the solution architecture.
- Consult, negotiate and communicate with system stakeholders and ICT professionals to promote shared and consistent understanding and acceptance of the proposed solution.
- Provide expert advice and communicate solution alternatives, architectural risks, issues and resulting implications.
- Proven expertise in the development of Azure solution architectures for complex systems, ensuring consistency with and traceability across specified requirements within enterprise architecture and governance frameworks.
- Proven experience in architecting and/or managing an Azure enterprise-scale landing zone deployment, preferably in a large-scale environment.
- Ability to evaluate and undertake impact analysis on major architectural options and assess associated risks and issues, ensuring that the solution architecture balances function, service quality and system management requirements.
- Ability to align to organisational standards, architecture patterns and technology roadmaps whilst ensuring the use of solution architecture techniques, methodologies and tools ensuring consistency within the team.
- High level of expertise and proven experience in the following technology domains to architectural standards, decisions, direction, standardisation and professional advice:
- Azure
- Cloud Networking & Security (preferably hub & spoke model)
- Cloud Connectivity (ExpressRoute, Peering, VPN, etc)
- Cloud Automation (Azure Bicep / ARM, CI/CD practises, Git, DevOps)
- Microsoft Active Directory & Azure Active Directory
- DNS / DHCP
- Azure Policy
- Azure Security & Governance (Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Log Analytics, Sentinel)
- High level expertise and experience in applying cloud architectural principles in terms of scalability, resiliency, security, cost, automation, and management and monitoring.
- Ability to establish and influence positive, partnerships and collaborative working relationships with lead cloud architect, cloud engineers, project team and partners internal and external to Queensland Health. (SFIA: RLMT Level 6), (NHS: Effective and strategic influencing)
- Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and decision-making abilities to identify, analyse and resolve technology challenges in response to business and ICT requirements.
- Proven expertise in applying solution architecture principles, practices and processes within enterprise architecture, ICT investment and governance frameworks.
