We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Solution Architect to join our Digital Foundry team. You will be involved in our local and global businesses working closely & collaborating with our Digital Product Owners, CX/UX Designers, BA’s, Technical Leads, Solution Engineers, and other technology partners to help deliver amazing outcomes to our business.

As the Solution Architect, you will be responsible for solutions that enable our business with new capabilities or uplift in CX with a focus on Digital first technology enablement.
You have a true passion for building to industry best practice but enjoy the process of experimentation to learn & adapt along the way. You will take an active role in developing and refining the Architecture framework and processes to increase value added by the team in reducing cost and complexity, managing risk and enhance change flexibility across the technology estate and liaise closely with our Global CTS Architecture community ensuring that local development teams work collaboratively with their global counterparts and align with global Architectural standards and strategy.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Getting your hands dirty when needed. Show the team how it is done and can bring the team & stakeholders along the journey with plain easy to understand descriptions / diagrams that tell the story.
- Always considering the right technology stack, strategic alignment, project objectives, implementation strategy, organisational fit, & non-functional requirements.
- Participation, and encouraging team participation, in learning and development activities including industry updates, “lunch and learn” sessions, formal mentoring and formal training opportunities.
- Contribution to the improvement of the Architecture capability; both within the Digital Foundry & across the broader Computershare group.
- Ensuring delivery against operational control measures and address via Service Improvement Plans where a shortfall has been identified, working in collaboration with the internal and external stakeholders, within the wider group and other selected vendors where themes / trends occur.
- Leading, managing and developing strategic relationships, service, quality, and costs with services vendors in collaboration with the Global Vendor Management team
- Definition & delivery of business aligned technical solutions for assigned initiatives, and their oversight through to delivery
- Fostering an environment of technical learning & experimentation that feeds back into our project ideation
- Providing critical analysis, advice, & leadership for solution options to a broad range of business & technology stakeholders
- Facilitate/coordinate coaching, mentoring, training, and professional development programs within the group
- Drive the maturation of Solution Architecture as a valued discipline in the Digital Foundry
- Incubate technology that enables our business; supported by appropriate governance & transitioning into mainstream BAU
- Contribute to the delivery of projects/initiatives and research and technology strategy/choices
What will you bring to the role?
We are looking for you to have a good understanding of the IT architecture, infrastructure, and cloud development this includes Engineering, software architecture design, and technical / Business analysis. Demonstrated leadership by previously supervising or manage others (in a project context) through effective communication, have provide support and guidance to members of your team. It is vital you can present technical solution design and justification to all levels of the organisation, as well as manage expectations when balancing solution alternatives against business constraints & technical realities.
It is important that as the Solution Architect to have high attention to detail and have good judgment based on best practice and previous experience. Using deep analytical skills you will recognise corporate strategy, business objectives, and technology constraints/opportunities. You can flexibly adapt to challenges and have a resilience to priority business changes.
Key skills required include:
- Tertiary qualifications in Technology or similar/relevant certifications
- Demonstrated architecture & technical leadership skills, achieving outcomes through influence
- Mentoring and building technical teams’ capability
- Experience creating & documenting solution architectures in a complex environment
- Experience developing / working across (one or more of)
- Front end technologies & frameworks
- Mobile application development
- API & Services implementations
- Cloud & Infrastructure as Code implementations
- Strong problem solving, analytical thinking and teamwork skills
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge / certification on architecture frameworks
- Financial Services industry experience
- Prior leadership experience in selecting & implementing vendor specific methodologies and structured technologies
- Experience/exposure with the below technologies would be great, but isn’t necessary: (React, Redux and TypeScript Gatsby and GraphQL, C#, .Net Core, and MSSQL)
- Azure DevOps and broader Azure Cloud services
- Identity services
